Ma Doo Bua
A giant water-lily pond cafe near Bang Tao where guests stand on the leaves for the photo.
Thai, International · Cherng Talay · ฿ · typical bill ~400 ฿ per person.
Ma Doo Bua ('come look at the lotus') is built around a pond of Victoria amazonica — the world's largest water lily, with round leaves that can span over 3 metres and hold up to 50kg. For a fee, staff walk guests onto a leaf for the signature photo, with drone shots available too. Past the pond, traditional Thai-style pavilions hold a cafe serving coffee, desserts and a simple Thai/international menu, with an early breakfast service from 6am for guests staying at the attached Ma Doo Bua villas, in a garden setting on the inland side of Bang Tao.
