Chebureki
The island's first cheburek cafe — fried Russian-Eastern pastries, borscht and homemade kvass in the middle of Kathu.

A cozy, no-frills cafe on Vichitsongkram Road in Kathu, built around one thing done well: chebureki, crisp fried pastries stuffed with meat or sweet fillings, made fresh to order in full view of the tables. The rest of the menu leans homestyle Russian — garlicky borscht, salo with rye bread and mustard, herring under a fur coat, cutlets with mashed potato — washed down with proper homemade kvass. It grew out of word of mouth on Instagram (@chebureki.phuket) rather than a storefront sign, and stayed small: a handful of tables, no polish, food that tastes like someone's kitchen. A favourite stop for Russian-speaking travellers craving a taste of home, and a low-risk first try of the cuisine for everyone else.
