On Laemsai Road above Kata Beach, A Blanket & Pillow spreads across a hillside garden with terraced seating — hammocks, floor cushions and low tables scattered from the top of the slope down toward the sea, with a chilling deck just steps from the water at the bottom. The name is literal: blankets are handed out for the breezy evening hours. It started in 2020 as a family project — the Boonyawong family lost their jobs and built the place themselves, father as builder, mother in the kitchen, the kids on register and behind the coffee machine — and still runs that way. The menu is cafe-casual — coffee, tea, smoothies, cakes, ice cream, and simple mains like spaghetti and rice — built around one purpose: watching the sun go down over the Andaman Sea. Pet-friendly, no table reservations, closed Mondays.
